I have a dog an he has a possible a nail infection how can I cure it?

My dog has a broken nail in half and inside the nail he has dirt because he was digging in the dirt is that my family has a backyard. how can i cure it and he has been lymping for days?I have a dog an he has a possible a nail infection how can I cure it?
He needs to see a vet! If you ripped off part of your foot and it got so infected that you didn't want to walk on it, don't you think you would want to go to the doctor for antibiotics and pain meds? He should probably see a vet for this. It may need to be cut off short (under sedation with pain meds) and he will probably need antibiotics. Until you get to a vet (tomorrow) soak it in a betadine/water solution.

soak it in Epsom salt and warm water. make sure you rinse the pay well afterword to prevent diarrhea. Also may want to think about taking your dog to the vet for antibiotics.
take him to the vet and see what the vet has to say about the possible infection and then take it from there. u never want to try and treat possible infections urself becaus u don't know what could happen
he needs medical attention. He'll need anti-biotics and perhaps have the nail removed. good luck and next time don't wait so long, it's painful.
Take your dog to the vet, to insure that his nail heals properly. It isn't right to let him suffer and watch him limp. Good Luck!
