I keep getting a bill from the laboratory for my possible nail infection?

I specifically told the secretary that I did not want it to be sent to the lab for analysis, and that I had a membership card at a hospital. However, despite what I told her, it was still sent to the lab, and now the lab keeps on sending me a bill, that I do not want to pay for. Do I have an argument against the lab, since the analysis was done without my consent? If I do have a case, who do I complain to, to the doctor's office, or to the lab? Help me please, any sort of advice would be much appreciated. Please no rude remarks or comments. Thanks.I keep getting a bill from the laboratory for my possible nail infection?
The doctor's office.

The lab is not at fault because they did receive an order from the doctor's office to do the testing.

It would help if you have the secretary's name so you can ask for her by name to make your complaint. You want to talk to the office manager or the doctor himself if it's a small office.

Send, in writing, a letter to the lab that is billing you that you are disputing the bill. You need to do this within 30 days of the bill.

Then you have more time to resolve the issue at the doctor's office.

It appears to be the doctor's office who sent the nails clippings or scrapings (if that is what it was) to the lab. The lab is not responsible for the mix up. All you can do is talk with someone in the doctor's office, like the bookkeeper, to explain that you specifically said you did not want them tested. It is up to the doctor's office if they waive the charges. You are probably out of luck with this one, but, it is worth a try. Good luck anyway.
