any help is appreciated, thanxHow do you get rid of a fungal nail infection on your feet using over the counter products?
Nail fungal infections are notoriously difficult to treat even with conventional therapy.
There are no really useful over the counter preparations as far as I know.
Options are local lacquers such as Amorolfine (Loceryl) or oral medication such as Terbinafine (Lamasil). The advantage of the lacquer is that it is non toxic its disadvantage is that for toes it may require more than a year of treatment. Lamasil may require 6-8 months treatment and has the potential for liver toxicity. How do you get rid of a fungal nail infection on your feet using over the counter products?
just go and ask your chemist, there's a few products out there and they do work it just takes time. it's the same stuff as for athletes foot.
why not go to your GP, if you still want over the counter stuff speak to a chemist.
You get a liquid to paste onto your nails and a file to file the fungley green off, it takes months but it does work.
There are a few products you can buy from the chemist for fungal nail infection but with all of them it is a liquid you paint on the nail every day until the nail has grown out completely which can sometimes take up to a year.
You would have a lot less hassle (and expense) getting tablets from your doctor.
My answer is probably unhelpful - but I believe foot soaks help, %26amp; adding sea salt (regularly either in a washing-up bowl, or in the bath) (rather than trying to get by by only having showers - which do not make it easy for you to see or care for your feet!!) When the skin %26amp; nails are soft, clean your feet %26amp; nails thoroughly - rub all the dead skin off, %26amp; use special manicure / pedicure tools to clean around the cuticles %26amp; under toe nails).
Keeping feet clean helps your health (%26amp; could help you avoid infections etc).
%26amp; when you have dried your feet thoroughly, use an ordinary deodourant on your feet EG. Mitchum (in a green bottle), rubbing that under your feet %26amp; between the toes.
You can with Canesten but you have to apply it every day without fail for maybe 3 to 6 months until every trace of the infection has not only gone but the infected part of the nail has grown out.
I have had such an infection for 24 years and have never had the patience to get rid of it completely.
buy a scapel and chop your toe off. or use a natural anti bacteria like tea tree.
hi
you can get an extra toothbrush and use it to clean under the nails=make sure your nails are kept short and try to keep your feet from becoming moist
YOU CANT ..YOU GOT TO GET A PRESCRIPTION .THE STUFF BEGINS WITH AN L IT IS COSTLY AND IT TAKES ABOUT 4 MONTHS .AND YOU GOT TO GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR IN 2 MONTHS TO GET A BLOOD TEST BECAUSE THE MEDICATION CAN F^^K UP YOUR LIVER.ONLY IN SOME CASES.BUT ITS WORTH THE SHAKE OF THE DICE!!!!!!!!!
ask the pharmacist for advice, theyre normally very good
