PLEASE HELP! Does anyone know of a home remedy for fungal nail infection, 2 of my toe nails are affected!!?

My nails have gone chalk white, and peel off in layers, its getting quite bad !! im too embarresed to walk with open sandals.PLEASE HELP! Does anyone know of a home remedy for fungal nail infection, 2 of my toe nails are affected!!?
A friend of mine is a manicurist. She suggested Vicks Vapo rub (rub it on the nail twice a day) . She also said that soaking your feet in vinegar water (half vinegar, half water) for twenty minutes to a half hour once a day will help soften the fungus.and to use a nail file to gently sluff off the fungus as it begins to break down.Good luck!PLEASE HELP! trosyd nail soln.
over the counter fungi cream works.. but by the sounds of it you might need to consult a dr for something stronger.
You need medical attention. Go before you lose your nails completely, and the infection becomes systemic. You may have another serious underlying condition.
hi, i have the same problem like you :) two of my toenails are affected (the two big ones), i have started one of the remedies, i cut my nails shortly, clean under it and remove dead layers or wastes, then i apply a vinegar under the nail and over it ( fungi can not grow in acidic environment), i repeat it every 2 minutes until feeling that it is well absorbed twice a day. i always keep my feet dry, and sometimes i dry them by a hair dryer :) i am still waiting for the results, but i feel it is really work!

before wearing my shows i put feet powder to absorb moisture which it stimulates fungi growth.

i heard about tea tree oil, vicks vaporub, try them instead of vinegar. the most important thing you must have to keep your nails dry , clean, and cutting shortly.

by theway you have to know some fungal medications are expensive, harmful for liver, and require 2-3 months to show results. we wont loose anything by trying such remedies!!!

good luck for both of us ;)
Here are some things.

Keep your nails cut short and file down any thick areas.

Don't use the same nail trimmer or file on healthy nails and infected nails. If you have your nails professionally manicured, you should bring your own nail files and trimmers from home.

Wear waterproof gloves for wet work (like washing dishes or floors). To protect your fingers, wear 100 percent cotton gloves for dry work.

Wear 100 percent cotton socks. Change your socks when they are damp from sweat or if your feet get wet. Put on clean, dry socks every day. You can put over-the-counter antifungal foot powder inside your socks to help keep your feet dry.

Wear shoes with good support and a wide toe area. Don't wear pointed shoes that press your toes together.

Avoid walking barefoot in public areas, such as locker rooms.
