what can i do to avoid going to the doctors?
[its now monday]Do i have a nail infection? [what should i do]?
You have to be very careful going to these nail salons. Whether you get acrylics or a regular manicure.
In the meantime, apply some essential oils on your nails. ALL of them. You can use a combination of PURE Eucalyptus Oil, or Lavender or Clove. You can get any of these essential oils at a natural health food store. If you have a Sweetbay Supermarket near you, they also carry a few in the organic section.
Also, try and eat some ginger slices. Ginger is an all natural antibiotic, anti-viral, antiseptic. If you cant stand the taste, then go with the capsules.
You may also want to have the acrylics removed so the infection/fungus doesn't spread to the other nails.
My nail tech ONLY uses MY nail tools. Meaning, for filing, she has my own file and buffer store in a manila envelope with MY name on it. (And it does NOT cost me extra). Her tools are always in the herbicide solution, and she NEVER uses that big 'blush brush' to sweep away acrylic dust on my fingers/nails. She told me that those things harbor bacteria, and holds any type of fungus and gets transferred from one person to another.
Cuticles DO NOT get cut either. They are moisturized with Solar Oil.
Good luck and let me know how this works for you.Do i have a nail infection? [what should i do]?
You probably do have an infection. You're NEVER EVER supposed to cut your cuticles, you're only supposed to gently push them back a little bit. Next time, dont let the lady cut them.
To take care of the infection, try soaking your fingers in warm water and salt for five minutes at a time, a couple times a day. Also after you've soaked them apply some antibiotic ointment (like polysporin) to the cuticles.
This should do the trick, if not you should really go see a doctor.
Good Luck!
anytime you mess with your cuticles they are going to be sore and agitated. Are they red, inflamed, still bleeding? The best thing to do is put antibiotic cream like neo. or something along those lines to keep from getting infected, or to fix the infection. Do not put bandaids on them they will not heel as fast!
