I was surprised when my new doctor recommended VapoRub. I was on Lamisil and Sporonox and neither of them worked. Then I had 2 toenails permanently removed and one grew back.

There is Lamicil but, it is very hard on your liver. I heard that you could use viniger apply twice daily to the infected area. Also vicks. My doctor told me to keep my nails painted with clear nail polish, i have been doing that and it seems to be helping. Or you could go to a foot doctor and maybe they could help you. It take several months for any of these things to work so be patient.

Lamisil (terbinafine) helps in fungal nail infection. The dosage is 1 tablet a day for 11/2 month for finger nails and for 3 months for toe nails. Yes it is known to cause liver toxicity but very rarely... Most doctors would not even ask for a liver profile before prescribing Lamisil. Most severe liver problems were seen with Ketoconazole (Nizral) not Lamisil.
Other medicines which are relatively safe are Fluconazole (Diflucan) but you need to take it Once a week for almost 6-12 months. Topically there is a nail lacquer called Onylac which would work but would take ages about 1 year.

Both of them should taken together oral antifungal tabletes and local antifungal cream or ointment .
