It can give you an infection which, untreated, can lead to further infection. Try a little foamy hydrogen peroxide or wash thoroughly, dry, and put on anti-biotic cream. In both instances you need a band-aid if you have one big enough. Also be on guard for red streaks extending from the infected site; that would indicate a blood infection for which you must get help, pronto.Can biting you nails give you a bad finger infection?
