Clipped one claw too short / BLEEDING a bit- Concerned about infection/ can I superglue the 'nail wound' -

I have had cat for 7 years and this is first time i clipped too short- dont want infection from digging in litter box...

Any suggestions appreciated. By the way, I have used super glue on my own hand before as advised by a pharmacist for a cut in the fold of my finger... and it worked well for me.Clipped one claw too short / BLEEDING a bit- Concerned about infection/ can I superglue the 'nail wound' -
my groomer just used to put some baby powder on it to clot up the blood and never really worried about it.

i am unsure about the superglue, but it sounds like an OK idea once it stops bleeding. you should get the nuskin from the grocery store instead of using actual superglue just to be safe.Clipped one claw too short / BLEEDING a bit- Concerned about infection/ can I superglue the 'nail wound' -
It would probably be okay to protect the nail. I think if the nail has quit bleeding you don't need any thing , it will seal it self. I have used a styptic pencil. Like for nicking your self when you are shaving to stop the bleeding.
just put peroxide on it. that will prevent infection.
Go ahead and see how far you get after you already clipped your cat's claw too short.

When you clip a cat's claw you just only want to clip the pointy tip. That's it. Never try to clip more than you should because as you know animal nails aren't like human nails.

Since you had your cat for 7 years I'm pretty sure your cat is use to you clipping it's claws. Or this may be your first time. And with how fineky you cats are, probably your last.

And uh-no...Please don't put super glue on your cat's paws. Just try to rub it clean with a cotton ball. Your cat won't injure itself by making it's injured claw worse.
No you can not super glue his nail back. Super glue is poison. What you need to do is use flour to make it clot and that would stop the blood till you can get them into a vet.
Don't use superglue. A foreign plastic like glue will probably cause more problems and he might nibble it off and make him sick. Kitty's nail hurts but it will heal fast. If nothing else, the clotted blood will block the vein. I've done this twice (and cried!) and they have been fine within a couple hours. Even talked to the vet about it and they said not to worry.

One thing you can use is styptic (what guys use to stop bleeding when they cut themselves shaving). But the bleeding should stop quickly, so don't worry.
I'm not sure but don't they use super glue at the hospital I think they do so i don't see why not i would just hold her until it drys but again( I'm not sure) good luck
You can go to the pet store and get stop bleed and that will work.
Try this 1st- I'd be careful with superglue it could be toxic to your cat on an open wound

To stop bleeding from a nail that is trimmed too close to the quick or broken away from the quick, you can pack the end of the nail with bar soap, styptic powder, cornstarch or flour, or tea leaves from a tea bag. Pack the coagulant up against the bleeding quick and hold it there for a minute or two but be careful the cat will allow this. Occasionally a nail that breaks off very close to the nail bed may create an infection in the toe that twill require a veterinary clinic visit and antibiotic treatment so watch for any limping that persists longer than two days.
The surgical cement used on cats after a declaw is a form of super glue, so it wouldn't harm the cat, but I don't think it's necessary. The bleeding should stop soon and the capillaries will seal off.

I think the c at would have a big objection to the smell of the super glue. If you are really concerned about sealing the hole, I'd recommend Elmer's white glue. It's odorless and water-based, so it won't upset the cat's stomach if he chews it off and swallows it, as he probably will.
Stuff some soap in it to seal it shut. Works every time!
