Nail fell off now the nailbed growing into the skin causing infection and pain?

My toenail fell off in January after being pushed off by a new nail (after being lifted after running a half marathon). Underneath there's a hump which goes to half way along the nail area, it's relatively hard... I'm presuming this is the nailbed? As the nail is growing it's pushing the nailbed into the skin and piercing it causing infection and ALOT of pain. I've never lost a toenail before but this doesn't seem to be normal? Help!Nail fell off now the nailbed growing into the skin causing infection and pain?
no this is not normal regrowth of a nail if it is pussing or any foul odor is present than it isdefinitelyy infected try visiting a podiatrist or if you re in that much pain head or a emergency room they will give you the right treatment and provide antibiotics.Nail fell off now the nailbed growing into the skin causing infection and pain?
Soak your foot in a warm solution of water and epsom salt. This should help relieve some pain. If you are still having problems in a couple of days, go see a doctor.
This happened to a friend of mine recently, and she had to go in and get the nail removed. It's a surgical procedure, I believe, and while it takes a bit of time to get back to walking normally, it's better than ingrown nails...
