I have a nail infection that started in my pinky nail and spread to my thumb, middle finger, and other pinky nail.
I got ciclopirox nail lacquer and it fixed both pinkies and my middle finger pretty much (the insturctions say that only 12% of people get totally clear nails again), but my thumb nail is terrible! I wear a bandage on it everyday to school because it's so ugly and gross.
I've been applying the nail lacquer for almost 8 months now and it was supposed to go away in 6 months.
Please help me get rid of this?!Nail infection? Won't go away!?
Poke a hole in a lemon .Insert the finger in it for one whole night.
Hope it works. It worked for me.Nail infection? Won't go away!?
See a Dermatologist, they will give you a script to clear up the fungus OTC treatments will not cure,
it's hard to say without actually examining, but sounds like a case of tinea ungium. If you show your doctor, he'll prescibe either an oral anti-fungal treatment or broad spectrum antibiotic. In the meantime, be careful not to spread it anywhere (ie. don't scratch, keep it covered).
have it{the nail}removed by a doctor because the infection is to deep down in the nail for topical treatments to work.
squeeze it til puss comes out.... i know, its gross....
PLEASE ANSWER MINE!!!!

Go to the emergency room to see a physiican - it could be cellulitis infection which requires IV/ strong drugs
You need to see a doctor. Likely you now have a fungal infection and topical stuff isn't going to make it better.
I'm sorry to hear. Don't keep wearing band-aids because they don't give your fingers room to breath. You should see a doctor again. Hope you get better! =]
I got plaster all over my nails in art class today! Visit the local clinic to resolve your nail problems, I'm no doctor.
ouch
you could go to a doctor
lol yeah no help here
um... call a doctor? probably a better idea than asking for anonymous help online...
How to Treat Nail Infections
Nail infections are usually caused by fungus and bad hygiene. Infectious germs can also be picked up from pools and spas or from sharing manicure and pedicure tools. The treatment can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending upon the severity of the problem. Below are some different methods to safely treat nail infections.
Step 1
Clip your nails with a clean nail clipper. Apply pure tea tree oil to the infected area with a cotton swab. Repeat three times a day.
Step 2
Mix two quarts warm water, one cup apple cider vinegar and at least ten drops of lavender oil in a basin. Immerse the infected nails for 20 minutes every day and then dry with a clean towel. This solution helps to balance the pH of the skin, reduces infection and increases resistance against fungi attacks and similar infections.
Step 3
Dip a cotton swab in a mixture of equal parts lavender and tea tree oil. Dab it on the nail infection two times a day.
Step 4
Purchase a solution of grapefruit seed extract from a local grocery store. Mix 100 drops of the extract in a half full glass of water. Apply the mixture to the nail with a cotton swab twice a day.
Step 5
Apply pure oregano oil to the nail twice a day. If the oil stings, dilute it with a few drops of olive oil. Cover the nail completely with the solution so it is absorbed into the skin.
Step 6
Use ';Vick's Vapo Rub'; to treat the infected nail. The oils in the product act as a strong anti-fungal ointment and help speed up the treatment.
Step 7
Make an appointment with a doctor if a home remedy doesn't heal the nail infection, the infection worsens or you have a medical condition that may cause complications. Follow the doctor's prescribed treatment.
