ok so i have been getting acrylic/crystal nails since i was about 16 and i have never had this problem before (im 26 now). two weeks ago, one of my nails broke off the day after i got a fill-in. my nail was bleeding and some of my regular nail fell off. i went back to the nail salon thursday of last week and to my disbelief he still put a new tip on that nail. over the weekend i noticed my finger (just above my cuticle) starting to itch and now i have little bumps and small swollen parts. does anyone know what this is? and also should i take my nails off immediately? i have a dermatologist appointment for tomorrow but im getting freaked outQuestion about possible nail infection?
Make sure you keep your appointment, because I suspect that you have a paronychia (an infection of the nail fold area). I think it's too sudden of a problem for it to be an inflammation or allergy, but that needs to be thought of, too.
