I saw this on t.v and was wondering what was it due to?What are nail infections in dogs due to?
broken toe nail and dirty environment and lack of care. If you spend time with your dogs...you will see a broken toe nail that would not likely to get infected. Poor thing...was is one of those animal rescue shows?What are nail infections in dogs due to?

Cutting the nails too short.
clipping nails too short and mold, fungus and staph from the pythium in the grass and ground....especially in the AM...when the ground is dewy........a good remedy for this is to get Listerine type mouth wash, put some on a cotton ball after done outside and wipe the feet good, between the toes and all....this infection will cease very soon!

nail infections can be due to several causes, most commonly fungus infections. If you have a dog with this problem, it needs to be seen by a vet %26amp; treated immediately.
